Walking across the stage at Commencement is a rewarding way to celebrate your hard work. Please join us for the Excelsior University Commencement in Albany, New York on Friday, July 11, 2025 at the MVP Arena. Registration and regalia ordering opens on March 19, 2025. Registration and regalia are required for the in-person ceremony.
 
This webpage is our Commencement hub. Check back for additional information especially as the event gets closer. A livestream of Commencement will also be available for graduates and guests to celebrate from a distance. It can be accessed on this page and registration is not required to view the livestream.

Commencement Speaker

Benjamin Bryant, an Excelsior University alumnus and an Emmy-nominated writer, filmmaker, and broadcaster, will be the Commencement speaker and receive the 2025 Alumni Service Award at the ceremony.
 
In a public service career spanning nearly three decades, he held senior roles on high-profile task forces and commissions for the Department of Defense, Congress, and the President of the United States. Bryant was a 2024 recipient of the Office of the Secretary of Defense Medal for Exceptional Public Service, the department’s third highest civilian award.
