Jason DeLonais, MS ’22, BS ‘08

Chief Jason M. DeLonais of Fletcher, Oklahoma, is a decorated United States Navy combat veteran with over 25 years of combined experience in leadership roles spanning law enforcement, government administration, and military service. He currently serves as the chief of police for the Fletcher Police Department in Oklahoma, where he leads a small, community-focused agency committed to professionalism, accountability, and modern policing practices.

DeLonais holds a master’s degree in criminal justice from Excelsior University and integrates academic insight with practical leadership in a rural law enforcement environment. He is a graduate of the Northwestern University School of Police Staff and Command, the FBI Trilogy leadership series, and the FBI National Command Course. His work as a published author, including articles featured in Police1, focuses on risk management, liability reduction, and strengthening leadership and professionalism in small agencies.

His service has been recognized with the American Police Hall of Fame’s John Edgar Hoover Memorial Gold Medal for Distinguished Public Service, the Oklahoma Sheriff and Peace Officers Association’s Medal of Valor, and Excelsior University’s Charles W. Laffin Jr. Memorial Award for academic excellence and outstanding academic achievement.
