MET380 Applied Finite Element Analysis

  • Department Mechanical Engineering
  • Level Upper
  • Format Online
  • Credits 3

Description

This course is designed as a software-based lab to study Finite Element Analysis (FEA) of mechanical components using SolidWorks. It introduces setting up a model for FEA analysis, meshing, running the analysis, and interpreting the results to optimize your model, inevitably reducing the required number of physical prototypes and testing. It builds a foundation of practical knowledge, focused on the key fundamentals of applied computational mechanics complemented by the ideal balance of theoretical background. The fundamentals learned in this course can be applied across a broad range of industries. This course contains a lab component.
