4.0 / Lower
The UExcel Calculus examination is based on material typically taught in the first semester of a lower-level undergraduate sequence in Calculus. The content of this four-credit examination corresponds with course offerings commonly called Calculus I. The examination assumes a familiarity with Precalculus topics including algebra, trigonometry, and functions. It measures knowledge of facts and terminology, an understanding of concepts and theories, and the ability to apply this knowledge and understanding in an analysis of problems in business, the sciences, and engineering. A familiarity with precalculus topics including algebra, trigonometry, and functions is required. (Multiple-choice examination)

Receive valuable feedback to help you prepare! You have the option of taking an Excelsior College UExcel® Practice Exam, developed specifically for this exam. You register for the practice exam after you register for credit-bearing official exam.*
Whatever your learning style, begin to study for your UExcel exam by using the Content Guide (available for free download on this exam page). Look especially at the detailed content outline in it, which breaks down the exam topics by content area sections. Memorizing specific questions and answers on the practice sets is not as effective as using the questions to practice in tandem with the content outline, to see which concepts you may need to study further. After testing with the practice question set, you can check online to see how you performed on each question—and why your answer was right or wrong.
The practice exam feedback is not intended to predict your performance on the actual credit-bearing exam, or to simulate the actual exam experience. For example, the practice question sets do not have time limitations. Plus, the practice questions will not exactly reflect the ones you will see when you take the actual exam for credit. Plus, fewer items will appear on the practice exam. However, taking the practice exam will most likely help you improve your knowledge of the relevant topics and upgrade your test-taking skills by exposing you to the types of questions you’ll see on the exam.
Please note that one practice exam cannot be substituted for another, once you register for it, and you must take it within a certain amount of time.
