Procedure

Excelsior College issues official Excelsior College Examinations transcripts for students who have completed Excelsior College or UExcel Examinations, and who have not been enrolled in an Excelsior College degree program. Students must request an official examinations transcript from the Office of the Registrar.

Examinations Transcripts contain the following fields: student name, address, Excelsior College student identification number, last four digits of the Social Security number (if available), DOB (month and day), examination date, examination catalog number, code number and title, recommended credit hours and exam level, and letter grade. A standard score is also provided for those examinations taken prior to Fall 1999. The official examinations transcript also contains the College’s official seal and the signature of the Registrar.

There is a fee for official examinations transcripts.

Students may request official examinations transcripts through MyExcelsior (login required). Signed authorization and the appropriate fee is required with all other transcript requests, which must be submitted to the Office of the Registrar by mail, by fax to 518-464-8646, or by scanned email attachment to ECTransTeam@excelsior.edu.

Official examinations transcripts can be issued either to a third party or directly to a student, and will be mailed in an appropriately annotated sealed envelope. The transcript will include only the examinations that have been completed and whose results have been posted in the student’s academic record.

Official examinations transcripts are mailed within five business days of the receipt of a student’s request. If a student needs an official examinations transcript sent sooner, they may request rush service. Although this involves an additional fee, rush service will guarantee that the examinations transcript will be sent within three working days from receipt of the request and payment. Note: In order for rush service to be guaranteed, the request must be properly completed and full payment of the examinations transcript and rush service fee must be received with the student’s request.

Excelsior College reserves the right to place a financial hold on the academic records of students who have not met their financial obligations to the College. A financial hold will result in the suspension of all College services, including the issuing of transcripts.
